In March, the European Commission presented the so-called „Citizen Energy Package“:
The „Staff Working Document“ also mentions contributions on balcony solar.
And on December 10, 2025, as part of the European Grid Package, the EU Commission proposed binding measures and tasked member states with removing legal and other obstacles to the installation of pluginsolar devices with a capacity of up to 800 W on and in buildings:
Article 16d, point 4:
„Amendments to Directive (EU) 2018/2001 (…) Directive (EU) 2018/2001 is amended as follows: (…) 4) Member States shall remove legal and other obstacles to the installation of plug-in solar appliances with a capacity of up to 800 W on and in buildings.“
